Red White and Blues

The East Room of the White House was transformed into an intimate blues club on Tuesday night for a concert featuring blues all-stars B.B. King, Buddy Guy and BARACK OBAMA?

A (surprise) performance by Obama came at the end of the concert - hosted by Michelle Obama to celebrate Black History Month and American songwriting - as the ensemble was playing "Sweet Home Chicago."

Buddy Guy egged on the president, reminding him that he'd sang part of an Al Green tune recently and Obama seemed compelled to comply. Perhaps since the song is the anthem of his home town...or maybe because he's just can't help but be a rock star.

"Come on, baby don't you want to go," the president sang out, handing off the mic to B.B. King momentarily, and then taking it back to tack on "Sweet Home Chicago" at the end.
